"Stranger Things Star Speaks Out: Why She Stepped Back from Acting"

Angela Grace Van Dien, an actress who portrayed cheerleader Chrissy Cunningham in the well-known Netflix series 'Stranger Things,' has recently disclosed her decision to step away from acting due to the sexual harassment she has faced.

The 26-year-old performer has revealed that she declined four movie projects in the past two and a half weeks, citing negative past experiences with individuals in positions of authority on set. During a Twitch stream on Tuesday, she shared that one of the producers on a prior film project hired a girl with whom he was involved romantically and then pressured Van Dien into having a threesome with them. This encounter left her feeling disturbed and upset.

As a result, the actor has opted to stream content online, stating that it's better for her mental health since she can selectively choose with whom she interacts. Van Dien, who boasts 303,000 followers on her Twitch account @BlueFille, streams herself playing games. Although the actor has stated that she will be cautious about the projects she chooses to engage with in the future, she has not abandoned acting and the television industry entirely.

On Thursday, she tweeted that her priorities are shifting as she ages, and she is seeking the right opportunity. Additionally, Van Dien revealed that she is happy streaming, developing her projects, and hoping that someone funds them so that she can run her set without asking her actors to sleep with her. While promoting her directorial debut, a 2020 short film titled "Monsters and Muses," she acknowledged the coverage of her Twitch stream.
